Abstract
The purpose of this research will be to analyze the role of the urban environment in the contemporary process of gentrification. It is claimed that the researchers ignored the physical and environmental dimensions of gentrification and,by doing so,neglected the insights into economic, environmental and social consequences of gentrification . Because research on urban geography and regional studies are formally located within theories related to the urban environment and political ecology ,it is argued that nature acts as an external element for the processes of accumulating urban capital . In particular,we will study how nature is important ,in three different ways, for gentrification process .a)how residents exploit nature as a mean to get social power;b)as an enviromental imaginary and c) as a dynamic material agent.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
