Closed-from expressions have previously been developed for the electric field which is doubly diffracted in the far zone by the edges of two interacting wedges illuminated by a plane wave obtained by a spectral extension of the uniform geometrical theory of diffraction (GTD). Presently, it is shown that this radar cross-section (RCS) solution exhibits the proper discontinuities and singularities to compensate those which may occur in the field of singly-diffracted rays. A triangular cylinder illuminated by a plane wave perpendicularly incident on its edges is used as an example.

Abstract
Closed-from expressions have previously been developed for the electric field which is doubly diffracted in the far zone by the edges of two interacting wedges illuminated by a plane wave obtained by a spectral extension of the uniform geometrical theory of diffraction (GTD). Presently, it is shown that this radar cross-section (RCS) solution exhibits the proper discontinuities and singularities to compensate those which may occur in the field of singly-diffracted rays. A triangular cylinder illuminated by a plane wave perpendicularly incident on its edges is used as an example.File in questo prodotto:
