Abstract
The Museum of Computing Machinery of the University of Pisa has a rich collection of computing devices, with a focus on digital machines. It includes many XIX century mechanical calculat ors and early Italian computers from the Sixties, as well as the milestones of contemporary commercial computing. In order to improve its attractiveness, despite its shortage of display spaces, the Museum is undergoing a complete reorganiza tion and, in the new layout, a room is devoted to an exhibition about the history of personal computing. The paper describes how two objectives drove the design of the exhibition, both of them made critical by the constraints on the available space: showing an outstanding collection and telling in an appropriate way a long history of scientific and technological development.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
