L'Italia Paese di arrivo : alle origini dei nuovi movimenti di popolazione

Studies on the mobility of the population have a long tradition and they are mainly dedicated to demographers,economists and sociologists , but also geographers. The study of mobility is relevant to geography when it concerns consistent , regular and repeated flows. This work is focused on pull and push factors and therefore on the causes that lead people to move and choose places of destination , with particular attention to Italy. This research aims in particular at examining the phenomenon of foreign presence in Italy and not only in its quantitative ,but also and above all in structural features. At the base there is the will to ask if and to what extent that of immigrants is now a reality ,studying the path of migrants and the role that Italy plays in the migration process itself.
