Etymology of the name of amber "glesum". Traditionally ascribed to Germanic, the analysis of phonetical aspects shows that it could be Celtic as well. It is finally proposed that it is a Wanderwort whose diffusion could be connected with ancient Celtic metallurgy and mining.
