Nuova globalizzazione e processi migratori all'inizio del terzo millennio : il caso di Roma.

Starting in the mid-seventies,even Italy,after having been a land of emigration for more than a century,became a destination for new flows from different countries in the developing world and from former eastern socialist world after 1989.The post-industrial transition period caused a structural reorganization of the economy and a change in the same push and pull factors of migrations. Rome is immediately distinguished by being the destination chosen by the flows. The higher growth rate ,particularly significant since the early nineties,has made Rome the main pole of attraction and the capital of immigration. After about forty years from the beginning of the immigration process , this research studies new characters and new forms of the process itself.
