In the last decade, animal biodiversity gained attention from mass-media, eliciting an over-increasing interest in people, especially the Vertebrates. On May 2002, the room “Comparing Vertebrates” was set-up by the Museum of Natural History and Land of the University of Pisa. A total of 117 findings belonging to an ancient zoological collection (XIXth century) of the former Museum of Comparative Anatomy and Zoology, was recovered and exposed together with casts and three-dimensional models. For each group of Vertebrates, anatomical, physiological and behavioural outlines were discussed and illustrated in an adaptive way, using a largely comprehensible language. Due to the attendance of students from elementary school and college, the room represented not only an opportunity to exhibit part of the historical-naturalistic property of the University of Pisa, but also an example of a didactical exposition dealing with an anti-intuitive theme, such as the comparative anatomy of Vertebrates

Abstract
Due to the attendance of students from elementary school and college, the room represented not only an opportunity to exhibit part of the historical-naturalistic property of the University of Pisa, but also an example of a didactical exposition dealing with an anti-intuitive theme, such as the comparative anatomy of VertebratesI documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
