In February 2004, after along parliamentarian iter, it comes approved of in Italy the Law on assisted reproduction technology. This norm means prescribed, for before the time in Italy, the access to the techniques of assisted reproduction, placing one series of limits to the activity of the gynecologist and embryologist and emphasizing above all the embryo rights to the maternal rights' cost and more in a generalized manner of the infertile couples. Law 40/04 severely limits the access to the reproductive techniques, subordinating it to determines requirement of age, assessed sterility and stability to you of the brace; moreover it prohibits use of some techniques previously available, as use of spermatozoa or eggs from donors, the production and the transfer more than three embryos or the cryopreservation of the same ones and excludes every possibility to carry out the diagnosis pre-system. This review analyses that what is happening today in Italy little more than a year from the law 40 approval, and in particular how is changing the way to operate of the centers that are taken care of assisted reproduction
