A HYBRID MM-FE TECHNIQUE IS PRESENTED, WITH APPLICATION TO THE ANALYSIS OF WAVEGUIDE COMPONENTS AND INDUCTIVE FSSS. THE PROPOSED HYBRID APPROACH COMBINES THE COMPUTATIONAL EFFICIENCY OF THE MM ANALYSIS WITH THE VERSATILITY AND FLEXIBILITY OF THE FE METHOD, ENABLING US TO ACCURATELY MODELLING THE ELECTROMAGNETIC BEHAVIOUR OF ARBITRARY CROSS-SECTION WAVEGUIDES OR INDUCTIVE FSSS REALIZED BY PERIODICALLY PERFORATING METALLIC THICK SCREENS WITH ARBITRARILY SHAPED APERTURES. THE BASE OF THE PRESENT FORMULATION IS THE EXPANSION OF TRANSVERSE ELECTRIC AND MAGNETIC FIELDS BY USING TVFE WHICH GUARANTEES SPURIOUS-FREE SOLUTIONS. THE FSSS, ARE ANALYSED BY EXPANDING THE ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELDS IN THE FREE-SPACE REGION THROUGH A COMPLETE SET OF FLOQUET MODES, CONSIDERING THE SINGLE PERIODICITY CELL; MODES INSIDE APERTURES ARE DETERMINED THROUGH A FEM PROCEDURE. NUMERICAL RESULTS ARE SHOWN IN ORDER TO CHECK BOTH THE EFFECTIVENESS AND THE ACCURACY OF THE PROPOSED PROCEDURE.

Abstract
NUMERICAL RESULTS ARE SHOWN IN ORDER TO CHECK BOTH THE EFFECTIVENESS AND THE ACCURACY OF THE PROPOSED PROCEDURE.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
