Abstract
In order to distinguish the more complex linguistic-structural constructions of classical architecture, the theory of French architectural Classicism distinguishes these ordonnances from the ordres, referring the latter only to the entablature colonnades which, in comparison with the former, are much simpler. A differentiation that is not recorded in the Italian lexicon, not identifying a specific term for this further semantic-aesthetic area, namely ordinances. It is Antoine-Chrisostôme Quatremère de Quincy, the last great cantor of Classicism in architecture, who fully defines this assumption in his monumental theoretical work.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
