Abstract

An Algerian woman, a French man and Marie, a blonde girl: three destinies that intersect during a train trip. They are all three in search of solitude and isolation but, after an accidental fact they will start a conversation which will continue all night revealing complementary truths. It is always Algeria, its past and especially recent history that Maïssa Bey puts at the heart of her work to say, through narrative fiction, what could not be said. It is during the night conversation that the three characters find their common point: Algeria and the war. They find themselves with their history, their experience, their silence and all three in search of a truth that will emerge thanks to the painful speech of the other.
