The purpose of this contribution is to identify the main figures and topics at the basis of the cultural project of the George cirlce called “Secret Germany”. From this point of view, the Siebenter Ring can be considered a key work, in particular for the literary references present in the Zeitgedichte (its first part) and in the Tafeln (the last part). The choice of models such as Dante and Conradin the Boy as far as people are concerned, the Rhine and other places of memory as far as the space is concerned, is emblematic, since it creates the conditions for a vision of history that goes beyond contingency and focuses on personal mythologems.
