The article aims at analysing the recent case n. 140 of 2020 of the Italian Constitutional Court, concerning the judicial review of law-decrees. After focusing on the most relevant developments of the Constitutional Court’s caselaw on law-decrees of the last few years, the article analyses the case against that background. The Author argues that the case confirms the general self-restraint of the Court in checking the limits for the adoption of law decrees and addressing the relationships between the legislative and the executive branches.
