This chapter mainly focuses on the role played by membranes and red-ox active and red-ox inert metal ions in triggering the pathogenic mechanisms of Protein Conformational Diseases. In addition, firstly, the basic rules governing lipid-peptide interactions were concisely reviewed; secondly, the effects of several membrane-mimicking environments on the conformational preferences of biologically active peptides were discussed.

Abstract
This chapter mainly focuses on the role played by membranes and red-ox active and red-ox inert metal ions in triggering the pathogenic mechanisms of Protein Conformational Diseases. In addition, firstly, the basic rules governing lipid-peptide interactions were concisely reviewed; secondly, the effects of several membrane-mimicking environments on the conformational preferences of biologically active peptides were discussed.File in questo prodotto:
