This brief essay presents the criteria for the realization, the development phases and the possible applications of the LBC Corpus in Spanish, created in the framework of the Lexicon of Cultural Heritage (LBC) project. First, the authors briefly comment the main features of the corpus and the selection criteria of the texts that are included in the corpus. Second, they discuss and illustrate the possible uses of the corpus by different types of users and in areas of interest such as tourism, specialized translation and the teaching of Spanish for specific purposes.
