The opposite and complementary concepts of infinity and limit are essential in Epicurean philosophical speculation and in particular in Lucretius’ De rerum natura. Through the analysis of some passages of the I, II, V and VI books, which dealwith the question of the infinity of the universeandforeshadow the end of our world, the article will try to show the ethical implications of this teaching about the limit, alsoin relation to the discussion on death contained in the third book.
