Abstract
In the last decade, the relationship between Italy and Europe suffered a condition of continuous debates and disagreements regarding the organization of Search and Rescue missions in the Mediterranean. Since the Mare Nostrum operation, the controversial EUNAVFOR Med Sophia operation, and the current operation Irini, the inability to adopt an agreed line of action resulted in dire consequences for migrants and their safety. Eventually, the difficulty of constructing a common humanitarian position in Europe led to a set of securitized policies which led to securitized politics which view migration as a menace to fight against.File in questo prodotto:
