The contribution represents an updated collection of the burials of infants and adolescents within the funeral contexts of the Pisan and Volaterran territories during the Etruscan period, from the Iron Age to the Roman period. While Volterra and its territory provide a fairly representative sample of childhood burials recovered in urban necropolises, especially regarding to the Iron Age and the Hellenistic period, in Pisa the documentation is still little consistent, because most of the Etruscan funerary contexts excavated in the city are still unpublished or currently under study. However, we can observe that in general, although numerically small, subadult individuals have often received from the family groups and the community to which they belonged, a degree of consideration and, therefore, funeral arrangements and grave goods of a level of quality similar to that of adults.

Abstract
The contribution represents an updated collection of the burials of infants and adolescents within the funeral contexts of the Pisan and Volaterran territories during the Etruscan period, from the Iron Age to the Roman period. While Volterra and its territory provide a fairly representative sample of childhood burials recovered in urban necropolises, especially regarding to the Iron Age and the Hellenistic period, in Pisa the documentation is still little consistent, because most of the Etruscan funerary contexts excavated in the city are still unpublished or currently under study. However, we can observe that in general, although numerically small, subadult individuals have often received from the family groups and the community to which they belonged, a degree of consideration and, therefore, funeral arrangements and grave goods of a level of quality similar to that of adults.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
