This paper addresses the issue of the study of the classics of legal philosophy by proposing as a method of analysis that of the readings of the classics offered by scholars who are also considered classics in a perspective typical of the history of legal philosophy. Specifically, some passages from the readings of John Locke’s work made by Carl Schmitt and Karl Olivecrona are taken into consideration as they are particularly significant for researching legal-philosophical aspects in Lockean thought.
