The author retraces her experience with digital humanities, claiming an approach focused not on theory or large disciplinary frameworks, but on concrete activities. The article insists on the importance of collaborations and networks of scholars who are sensitive to digital issues, to ensure that the field of digital humanities is recognized at ministerial level and that the sector avoids excessive specialization. The author also emphasizes how the knowledge of some digital tools and the methodologies connected to them are indispensable today for researchers and history students, and invites to give space to reflection on basic digital skills for humanists. Linked to didactic issues is also the theme of sharing and participation in historical practices by large and diverse audiences, and therefore of public history, which cannot be isolated from other issues and which must instead be an integral part of the change underway.

Abstract
The author retraces her experience with digital humanities, claiming an approach focused not on theory or large disciplinary frameworks, but on concrete activities. The article insists on the importance of collaborations and networks of scholars who are sensitive to digital issues, to ensure that the field of digital humanities is recognized at ministerial level and that the sector avoids excessive specialization. The author also emphasizes how the knowledge of some digital tools and the methodologies connected to them are indispensable today for researchers and history students, and invites to give space to reflection on basic digital skills for humanists. Linked to didactic issues is also the theme of sharing and participation in historical practices by large and diverse audiences, and therefore of public history, which cannot be isolated from other issues and which must instead be an integral part of the change underway.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
