This paper presents a simple and original CMOS, sub-threshold bandgap voltage reference capable of operating with extremely reduced supply voltage values. The circuit capability is demonstrated by means of accurate electrical simulations performed on a prototype designed with a standard 0.18 µ m CMOS process. A reference voltage of 190 mV has been obtained with a minimum supply voltage of only 223 mV and a line regulation close to 8 mV/V.
