My article for Medways will focus on the theme of Renaissance natural magic, conceived specifically both as a tool for understanding the natural world and as a fundamental element for human knowledge. In this perspective, the concept of the bond becomes important, that is, the special universal bond that connects all the manifestations of the real and the human in a consonant rhythm. In this interplay of links and references, of ways of connecting natural and human beings, several "transformation figures" such as Circe and Actaeon will be taken into consideration, representing a specific relationship between man-beast-nature in which the three elements enter into a complex and stratified dynamic where each of them is essential for the others.
