Globalizzazione, rinnovo urbano e processi territoriali. Il caso europeo di Bruxelles e Strasburgo : bruxellisation e Eurometropolis.

Starting from the characteristics of the gentrification processes and the territorial, but, therefore, social and economic impact, the Author focuses his attention on two capital cities of the European Union : Bruxelles and Strasbourg. In particular, the Bruxellisation processes and urban dynamics resulting from the presence of the institutional offices of the European Union itself will be discussed. As for Strasbourg, the study of the international disctrict of Archipel and the improvement of urban functions related with the establishment of the Eurometropolis. Finally, alternative strategies will be suggested to address and resolve the conflicts and urban territorial imbalances deriving from the gentrification processes dictated by the global market, but also the compromise practice ( facadisme) between the renewal and the safeguarding of the urban cultural heritage will be studied.
