The aim of this article is analysing humour in two Lithuanian books that have recently been published in Italian. The study focuses on translation issues, such as translatability, adaptation, formal vs. functional correspondence. Different instances of humour and their Italian translations are presented and discussed especially distinguishing between “linguistic” (i.e. signifier-based) and “textual” (meaning-based) humour.
