Most of industrial activities imply operations such as process, transport, and storage of materials and chemicals whose use exposes human beings, environment, and properties to a risk due to their1,2: - Intrinsically hazardous properties, e.g., flammability/explosivity, acute and chronic toxicity, carcinogenicity, mutagenicity, teratogenicity, aquatic toxicity, biodegradability, persistence in the environment, reactivity and stability, etc. - Hazardous conditions that might happen during such operations. To manage such risk in industrial activities, physical barriers, technical systems, or organizational measures are in place during process, transport and storage. In the present Module, basic notions of common process (in terms of unit operations) and storage safety barriers will be discussed below, whereas transportation falls out of the topic.

Abstract
In the present Module, basic notions of common process (in terms of unit operations) and storage safety barriers will be discussed below, whereas transportation falls out of the topic.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
