The adsorption heat pumps are a promising technology suitable for the industrial waste heat recovery. In particular, the direct contact configuration can be used to generate high-temperature steam for industrial applications limiting the design complexities. In this paper, a numerical simulation of an original configuration of a direct contact water/zeolite heat pump is presented and discussed. A lumped-parameter model has been developed using the Matlab code. Different sensitivity analyses were carried out with the aim of improving the steam generation. Results highlighted the relevance of the regeneration phase on the overall process.

Abstract
The adsorption heat pumps are a promising technology suitable for the industrial waste heat recovery. In particular, the direct contact configuration can be used to generate high-temperature steam for industrial applications limiting the design complexities. In this paper, a numerical simulation of an original configuration of a direct contact water/zeolite heat pump is presented and discussed. A lumped-parameter model has been developed using the Matlab code. Different sensitivity analyses were carried out with the aim of improving the steam generation. Results highlighted the relevance of the regeneration phase on the overall process.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
