Due tessere dell’agiografia fiorentina trecentesca: le leggende di san Zanobi e san Miniato

Two fourteenth-century manuscripts of the Florentine version of Jacobus de Varagine’s «Golden Legend» transmit the legends of Saint Zenobius and Saint Minias interpolated into the corpus of the legendary. These two legends have remained unpublished until now and are the oldest vernacular hagiographic texts known to date of the two Florentine saints. The paper offers a commented critical edition of the two legends based on new MS findings, as well as an in-depth examination of the hagiographic production in Latin and in vernacular on Saint Zenobius and Saint Minias and an investigation into the Latin sources of the two edited texts.

Due testimoni trecenteschi della versione fiorentina della «Legenda aurea» di Iacopo da Varazze trasmettono, interpolate nel corpus del leggendario, le leggende di san Zanobi e di san Miniato. Si tratta dei testi agiografici volgari italiani più antichi ad oggi noti, rimasti finora inediti, sui due santi fiorentini. Oltre all’edizione critica commentata delle due leggende, basata su nuove acquisizioni manoscritte, il contributo propone un’approfondita disamina della produzione agiografica in latino e in volgare sui due santi e un’indagine sulle fonti latine dei testi editi.
