In this paper, the author considers the platonic reflection on episteme, doxa and kairòs, in order to study the relation among philosophical knowledge, politics and history: considering how and why the philosopher’s episteme can “go wrong” in the history, the author suggests a new read of the myth of the cave, where the role of Thrasymachus acquires great importance.
