Much contemporary research has attempted to inflect “classical” concepts in the future tense. Some have argued about how the new digital age is “revolutionising” our social, political, economical interactions and organizations, and our lives in general: the ri-semantization of concepts and the introduction of new “formulas” that can capture the emerging dynamics, distinguishing them from those of the past, are necessary to prevent that the already long perceived and the already long conceived, with their bias and misunderstanding heuristics, may hinder the interpretation of the present, or even render indistinguishable the peculiar characteristics of the new dimensions of politics in the digital age. This paper deals with this complex scenario by focusing on the rising of unprecedented mediation and disintermediation processes.
