The aim was to record the measures of the umbilical structures in Standardbred healthy foals in order to obtain the range values. Ultrasound was performed at 1 (eco 1), at 3-4 (eco 2) and at 7-8 days of life (eco 3). Umbilical vein and artery, and the combined urachus/arteries were measured. X±SD of structures recorded at eco 1, 2 e 3 are respectively: artery 0,80±0,12cm, 0,65±0,12cm, 0,52±0,10cm; vein: 0,75±0,24 cm, 0,55±0,12 cm, 0,48±0,14 cm; urachus/arteries complex: 2,14±0,47cm, 2,05±0,37cm, 1,51±0,50cm. Paired t-test was significative for all structures. The measures recorded at eco 1 are similar to Others, while measures at eco 2 and 3 are smaller. Furthermore, our SD are lower than bibliography. The vein involve more rapidly respect to the complex urachus/arteries and the arteries.
