Developmental Dyslexiahas been traditionally studied in relation to a deficit in reading and writing. However, recent studies have shown that grammatical competence and mnemonic skills also play a relevant role in this scenario. The main goal of the study is to assess the morphosyntactic competence of a group of Italian adults with DD. The starting hypothesis is that the disorder would not be circumscribed to reading and writing skills but would also affect grammar. After a brief overview on the diagnosis and the aetiology of DD, we address the complex issues related to the comorbidity involving DD and Developmental Language Disorder and provide a brief outline of studies concerning morphosyntactic competence in dyslexic young adults. Subsequently, we introduce our experimental study, which has been conducted on a sample of Italian adults with dyslexia through the Test for Reception of Grammar (TROG-2_I).
