Abstract
Beginning with a careful analysis of Freud’s works on war and human destructiveness and distinguishing Freud’s attitude in Current Considerations on War and Death from the later one he advocates in Why War, the author integrates Freud’s research on a social issue with anthropological insights. The value of culture and the historical conditions that intervene to construct the moral regimes of war is emphasised. These are not so much attributable to a presupposed human nature, rather it is culture that intervenes to shape a certain type of human nature.File in questo prodotto:
