Archaeometry of the prehistoric and protohistoric pottery productions of Liguria: an initial definition of the petrographic markers of the Albenga-Centa-Val Pennavaire (SV) production district - The paper presents the results of a mineralogical-petrographic analysis on the origin of prehistoric ceramics in Liguria. This research benefits from the geological variability of this region, where multiple sedimentary, metamorphic and magmatic formations alternate. The study aimed to identify production districts on the basis of compositional markers typical of particular geological areas. So far years of systematic research and a thin section database made up of several hundred samples have made it possible to define the production districts of the Finale and the eastern Ligurian, where most of the prehistoric and protohistoric age sites that have been studied are located. In particular, the present work provides a preliminary definition of the origin markers of a possible production district located in western Liguria and represented by the plain of Albenga, the Centa River basin and the Val Pennavaire.

Abstract
In particular, the present work provides a preliminary definition of the origin markers of a possible production district located in western Liguria and represented by the plain of Albenga, the Centa River basin and the Val Pennavaire.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
