The experiment investigates the geography of the Flixbus network in Italy through the integration ofGeographic Information System (GIS) and Social Network Analysis (SNA). The development of digital platforms which act as intermediaries in service distribution of different kinds offers new ways to explore social, economic and spatial practices.Results shows the territorial pervasiveness of the “lean” platform model adopted by the company and the emergence of specific spatial systems mediated by the services offered by the platform itself
La sperimentazione indaga la geografia della rete dei collegamenti di Flixbus in Italia attraverso l’integrazione di metodologie GIS con l’analisi delle reti. Il recente sviluppo delle piattaforme digitali è un fenomeno che rivela nuove pratiche socio-economiche e nuove articolazioni territoriali. L’analisi evidenzia la pervasività territoriale del modello della “piattaforma magra”, adottata da Flixbus, e la presenza di sistemi di relazione basati sull’intermediazione della piattaforma stessa
