The introduction of autonomous and connected vehicles in the European market raises new risks for life, health, privacy, and cybersecurity. this article examines the current transition from a traditional model based on the owner and driver’s responsibility to one focused on the continuous control of the economic operators involved in the production and market introduction of autonomous vehicles. The objective of the article is to define new models of operators’ insurance contracts, able to internalize the risks deriving from autonomous vehicles.
