This paper presents a 3-axis Cartesian Portal moving a UHF-RFID antenna which enables SAR-based localization for worker safety applications. It is part of the SENERGY Project founded by the National Institute for Insurance against Accidents at Work (INAIL). The smart system improves the safety of workers during maintenance activities on machinery assembly by checking allowed/not allowed positions. The experimental setup prepared at the University of Pisa is firstly presented. Then tracking performance is shown in indoor environment, when an arrangement of multiple UHF-RFID tags are simultaneously localized.
