The narration is focused on Ulrich’s search for an “other” state of consciousness which would allow him a more authentic and satisfying conduct of life. The Other State constitutes a karst presence in Musil’s work, emerging in stylistic features produced by particular textual weaving techniques, including the use of lexical triads that allude to the overcoming of the oppositional perception of reality. In order to observe the rendering in Italian of the peculiar Musilian style, the work focuses on the triad Experiment – Essay – Versuch.
