In this paper new data from the chemical and isotopic composition of two different drip-points areas (named station 1 and 2) of the Antro del Corchia (Northern Tuscany) are discussed. The chemical and isotopic data are consistent with the presence of two independent plumbing system of the drip areas, characterised by a quite different hydraulic behaviour According to the oxygen isotopic composition of the drips, the station 2 is the most stable showing, also the lowest drip/rate, whereas the station 1 is characterised by a larger variability of the isotopic composition and shows higher drip rate. Therefore, the station 1 shows a major influence on the medium-short term changes in amount of meteoric precipitation, but this effect is underlined by the isotopic composition while it appears to be smoothed in the water chemistry.

Abstract
In this paper new data from the chemical and isotopic composition of two different drip-points areas (named station 1 and 2) of the Antro del Corchia (Northern Tuscany) are discussed. The chemical and isotopic data are consistent with the presence of two independent plumbing system of the drip areas, characterised by a quite different hydraulic behaviour According to the oxygen isotopic composition of the drips, the station 2 is the most stable showing, also the lowest drip/rate, whereas the station 1 is characterised by a larger variability of the isotopic composition and shows higher drip rate. Therefore, the station 1 shows a major influence on the medium-short term changes in amount of meteoric precipitation, but this effect is underlined by the isotopic composition while it appears to be smoothed in the water chemistry.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
