The new industrial revolution between techno-enthusiasm and technophobia: a spatial analysis of sentiment. The growing diffusion of advanced technologies has led to an intense debate on the existence of a new industrial revolution and its effects on individual lives, local communities, and spaces. The present work aims to contribute to this debate, focusing the attention on the perceptions of changes, which swing between tendencies of techno-enthusiasm and expressions of technophobia. Starting from the literature developed on socio-technological imaginaries, the paper analyzes the fourth industrial revolution through the opinions expressed on the web, using Sentiment Analysis. The empirical work was carried out on cities located in different areas of Italy and characterized by different manufacturing vocations and development prospects (Pisa, Terni, Taranto, Lecce).
