Semantiche e narrazioni della smart sustainable city nei social media: opinioni e pratiche emergenti nel contesto italiano

Semantics and narrations of the smart sustainable city in social media: emerging opinions and practices in the Italian context. The paper aims to analyse the discourses that emerge on the web around the concept of smart sustainable city in Italy and to detect the main keywords and associations that define its connotations in terms of technologies used (IoT, artificial intelligence, big data, etc.), areas of application (transport, environmental quality, services), subjects involved. To answer these research questions, first a Semantic Analysis is carried out, which makes it possible to identify the most recurring words in social media and to detect the connection between the smart city concept and that of sustainability. Secondly, a Sentiment Analysis is carried out with the aim of interpreting how smart urbanism is perceived by the population and which tensions between smart and sustainable can emerge in urban narratives and practices.
