Our excavations carried out in an insula in the southernmost part of Luna- near the hypothesized urban wall and Porta a Mare (Sea-Gate), immediately to the east of the Cardo Maximus- provide interesting data about the late Roman period, which, above all if compared with the results of research in other quarters, can increase our general knowledge about the city. The two domus identified in this peripheral insula (A and B, respectively to the north and the south) built in the second half of the 2nd cent. BC, underwent major changes and transformations through the centuries, but the area continued to be inhabited - or at least frequented- at least up to the late 7th-early 8th cent. AD.
