To our knowledge, this study represents the first investigation into the chemical composition of the essential oil of Euphorbia guyoniana Boiss. et Reut., a rare spontaneous species found in the sand dunes of Algeria. The essential oil was analyzed using gas chromatography-flame ionization detector and gas chromatography-electron impact mass spectrometry. The physicochemical properties of the oil, including relative density at 20(degrees)C, refractive index at 20(degrees)C, and optical rotation at 20(degrees)C, were determined according to ISO standards. The essential oil is primarily composed of nonterpene hydrocarbons, with significant amounts of apocarotenoids and oxygenated monoterpenes. The major compounds identified include n-pentadecane, n-heptadecane, n-tetradecane, hexahydrofarnesyl acetone, (E)-beta-damascenone, (E)-beta-ionone, and trans-piperitol acetate.

Abstract
The major compounds identified include n-pentadecane, n-heptadecane, n-tetradecane, hexahydrofarnesyl acetone, (E)-beta-damascenone, (E)-beta-ionone, and trans-piperitol acetate.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
