This article is focused on Giuditta Cambieri’s stand-up comedy, characterized by the concurrent use of Italian and Italian Sign Language. Aim of the artist is to bring together deaf and hearing people through a show which ironizes about the relationship between these two populations. Main focus of the article are the linguistic strategies Cambieri employs in order to keep a synchronous comic timing within two different languages and communicative modalities.
