It shows that the discussion on this multifaceted concept reached its peak in the 1930s, with the outbreak of the Great Depression. Thus, very different interpretative strands emerge, starting from the much-discussed relationship between planning and corporatism, that were also enriched by the analysis to the five-year soviet plans that had just started.
