This paper aims to analyze the consolidation of democratic constitutionalism in Brazil through the experience of Bolsonaro’s populism. It will first reconstruct the constitutional history of Brazil and underline its peculiarities. Then it will focus on the Brazilian form of governement to highlight its main mechanisms. Finally, it will review the main events of the Bolsonaro Presidency and assess the state of democratic consolidation in this country.
