Abstract

The pressing need for environmental sustainability has led to increased scrutiny of the logistics sector, particularly warehouse operations, due to their substantial contribution to greenhouse gas emissions. This review focuses on innovative measures to enhance energy efficiency and sustainability within logistics, specifically through the design and integration of energy management systems utilizing renewable energy sources. The role of energy storage systems and electric vehicles in reducing emissions and improving operational efficiency is also considered. We analyze mathematical models from various studies to aid in the integration of energy management systems in logistics, addressing their underexplored potential within warehouses. The analysis aims to bridge existing gaps in research and promote the practical implementation of energy management in the logistics industry.
