Abstract
Composed between the years 1113-1119 in a milieu closely connected to the court of the king Henry I of England (who ascended the throne in 1110), Philippe de Thaon’s Comput is presented as an exposition, probably divided into four books and provided with a long Prologue, of 3550 hexasyllabes verses rhymed in pairs, on the calendar for the use of clerics, to calculate the date of Easter and other moveable feasts . This first Philippe’s didactic work, despite the publication of two authoritative editions (but without both translation and glossary), constitutes a problematic case for philologists, and the present contribution, in preparation for a new edition with an Italian translation, aims to point out some critical preliminary issues .I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
