Exercises and questions are reported hereafter subdivided in two parts: Part 1 (questions or texts of the exercises) and Part 2 (answers). One may note that: • Part 1 reports the same texts given at the bottom of each chapter (from 1 to 24) of the book. • Texts in Part 1 deal with nuclear thermal hydraulics: we did our best to allow the reader to find solutions or answers from reading the book and, surely, the book provides the basis to arrive at solutions. • The minimum number of 10 exercises and questions applies to each chapter (reader may find a larger number of exercises for selected chapters). • In some cases, (we tried to minimize this) the connection between each exercise and the related chapter is weak. Still the exercise is relevant for the book content and it is complementary related to the concerned chapter. • Multiple answers are possible for a number of exercises and not all of them are reported in Part 2. In answering questions, in case the question is not clear enough, the reader should reformulate the question (eventually reducing the scope of the original question), rewrite the reformulated question and answer the reformulated question. • Some questions and related answers may deal with the same or a similar topic. In different words, repetitions of questions is not avoided (but only minimized). The reader may look at the same question in different contexts. • An attempt is made in answering the questions, not in all cases, to use wording different from traditional and established glossary in nuclear thermal hydraulics. This should not confuse the reader; rather this should provide a broader picture for the concerned topic, which complements the discussion in the book. • In some cases, partly connected with item above, an answer may rise more questions than the initial question. We hope that this brings the reader to investigate deeper upon the concerned topic. • The numbering of figures and tables in the present appendix is X.t-Y, where X is the chapter (i.e. 1 to 24), t is the question number (there is no distinction between question and answer) and Y can be A, B, C, … (until needed). • In a few cases, references (from general list of references of the book) are called: we adopt a different citation style than in other parts of the book (e.g. no blue characters). Any question and any answer may open to new questions including clarifications. Any answer may reveal imperfect (hopefully, not wrong). The reader is invited to be in touch with editors and authors in case he/she has doubts on answers or has a new question.
