Starting from the analysis of the innovative legal realist framework of Giovanni Tarello’s Introductory Lessons on the Constitutional Discipline of Property, the article highlights the fruitful contribution that Tarello’s work continues to make to contemporary debate. In particular, the article identifies in the Tarello’s method the most significant legacy of the Introductory Lessons among the multiple profiles of the interpretation of the constitutional text on property, the study of the so-called “invisible constitutional law” (legislative policies on property, in their dialectic with the interventions of the Constitutional Court and with the doctrine) and the study of the lines of development of the latter.
