The aim of this chapter is to highlight some theological implications of Batman’s narrative universe. We will proceed to an analytical comparison between the Book of Job and Batman: The Killing Joke, a famous 1988 graphic-novel by Alan Moore and Brian Bolland. Since it asks what the point is of traveling along a righteous path in face of evil’s crushing strength, this comic book explores the same issue raised by the Book of Job in a new and secularized way.
